Posyandu Cadres Given Understanding of HIV/AIDS

HIV/AIDS spread handling is intensified in West Jakarta. The information about HIV/AIDS is given to cadres of Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) to do the handling until the lower-class citizens.

I feel concerned about the data from Health Ministry showing that Jakarta has the most HIV/AIDS sufferers in Indonesia

 

Head of Support and Service Section for West Jakarta AIDS Handling Commission (KPA), Ariani Sosrodjoyo stated the program was participated by 120 Posyandu cadres spread in 56 urban villages of 8 sub-districts.

"I feel concerned about the data from Health Ministry showing that Jakarta has the most HIV/AIDS sufferers in Indonesia. Therefore we gave handling material for 120 posyandu cadres," she explained, Monday (11/23).

 

The effort, she continued, is a form of program acceleration of handling and public awareness about the important of knowing the virus.

 

"For instance, death and discrimination are because AIDS. It means they the key population such as sex workers, transvestites, and perverts should know their status whether they suffer or not," she disclosed.
